Description

Born in 1957 in Lanester in Brittany, Chantal Royant’s thirst for travel leads her to Berkeley in California at the end of the 70s where the intellectual and avant-garde movement is bustling.

Influenced by the American “Studio Glass movement”, she develops an experimental approach in molten glass transformation. As an international artist, her sculptures have incorporated many private and public collections.

Dinard, as well as molten glass, offers Chantal Royant an immersion into light, transparency, colour and movement. The landscape is always changing and these lively forces inspire her tirelessly.

“Plasticity is at the heart of creation as the expression of life itself. I find my inspiration in the moving material.”
