Chocolats Balthazar
Over the last 13 years, Balthazar has become a must for lovers of character chocolates in Dinard and on the Emerald Coast.
Balthazar has built its success on the quality of its chocolate bonbons, which are named after Dinard villas, and a very strong ethic: 0% colourings, 0% preservatives, 0% artificial flavourings, 0% palm oil.
Balthazar has won several awards at the Salon du Chocolat in Paris (Tablettes d'Or in 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023), and in 2021 joined the "Cercle des Incontournables" established by the Guide des Croqueurs de Chocolat.
Balthazar was the first chocolate factory in Brittany to work on a "bean-to-bar" basis (from the roasting of the beans to the bar), and the success of its bars made from beans from the Congo, Vietnam and India continues to grow.
Chocolate-makers regularly produce magnificent limited editions, such as the Ultim trimaran for the Route du Rhum. There are many specialities to discover in the chocolate factory: spreads, fruit jellies, éclats de chocolats (very fine squares of chocolate), reefs (caramelised almonds and oranges), mendiants, bite-sized chocolates...
