A century of Concours d’Elegance in Dinard

Dinard charms with its timeless allure and art of living. The seaside resort has embodied elegance since the Belle Époque. Its villas, beaches, and the Clair de Lune promenade enchant visitors.

At the beginning of the 20th century, elegance competitions appeared at salons and major events. Initially, only automobiles were entered in competition. These events highlighted the quality of coachwork and the refined lines of the cars. From the 1920s onwards, master coachbuilders and leading fashion designers revolutionized both the automotive world and the world of fashion — the golden age of elegance competitions.

The very first automobile elegance competition in Dinard took place on September 4th, 1921.
