La Grande Plage
If you head there from downtown, it's the perfect family beach!
Dominated by the 19th-century Grand Hôtel and flanked by the Décollé and the Nick, this is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a wide range of activities: sailing, a beach club, and seasonal sports.
Ideal family beach:
- Beach club in July and August
- Lifeguard-supervised beach during the season
- Water sports at the Saint-Lunaire Yacht Club
- Numerous sports activities in July and August
Parking and beach access:
- Access by car: Parking recommended at the Marais parking lot (800 meters away) and the Boulevard de la Plage parking lot (600 meters away).
- Access by public transportation: BreizhGo – Line 516, Point Info Tourisme stop (from Dinard and Saint-Malo). Direct access to the beach from the bus stop. From Saint-Briac-sur-Mer, get off at the Cimetière stop (400 meters from the beach).
Access to the beach is via stairs. At the western end, a ramp leads down to the beach. From the Marais parking lot, access is via the beach at low tide.
Pets:
Pets are allowed on the Grande Plage de Saint-Lunaire from September 16 to June 14.
Exposure and swimming conditions:
The Grande Plage de Saint-Lunaire is a large beach of fine sand facing northeast. The water quality is rated “Excellent” by the Ministry of Health (2025).
Swimming is possible at high tide. At low tide, the sea recedes to the level of the first moorings, so swimming is strongly discouraged.
