The first and Cézembre tours plunge you into the heart of the Second World War, in 1944, while the second takes you back to the end of the 18th century, to the time of the last privateers of Saint-Malo.

Go back in time, five years after the start of the Second World War, in the company of Joseph Guthrie, a soldier in the 83rd American Infantry Division who took part in the battles to liberate Saint-Malo. You'll discover the city in the summer of 1944, in the aftermath of its destruction. You'll learn about the challenges and upheavals that the occupation brought to the lives of the inhabitants, and what the war meant for the American soldiers who came to liberate it. Alongside him, you'll explore the landscapes of this island, which was one of the most heavily bombed places per square metre in the world during the war. Discover some of the bunkers and cannons that took part in the fighting that raged on the mainland during the liberation of Saint-Malo, bombing Allied troops and civilians alike.
