Cancaval et son histoire

Located in the Rance Estuary, the Pointe de Cancaval is a wooded spur of rock from which to admire the richly diverse landscapes along the Rance Valley. The Rance Estuary is one of the most extensive rias on the Breton coast. It is a major link between the continent and the sea, a combination of salt seawater and fresh river water. Since the tidal power station was built at its mouth (1961-1966), it has become a manmade basin.
