In northern Brittany, between the departments of Ille-et-Vilaine and C\u00f4tes d\u2019Armor, two towns have similar names that sometimes confuse our visitors: Dinard and Dinan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although they are separated by only about twenty kilometers, these two towns are very different. To help avoid any mistakes and ensure you don’t get lost, we\u2019ve prepared a little summary!<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Why such similar names?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The prefix \u201cDin\u201d comes from Breton and means \u201cfortified hill.\u201d
Each of these two towns overlooks its surroundings: Dinard, with its stunning Pointe de la Malouine and Pointe du Moulinet rising beside the emerald waters of the English Channel, and Dinan, perched on its hill, dominating the Rance valley.
